What is the New Business Starts Project?
Foothold has been offering business support to new start ups since the late 80s, by helping young entrepreneurs to transform their dreams and ideas into viable businesses. The project enjoyed much success in that the survival rate for these young companies was twice the national average.
For over the last 5 years the New Business Starts project which, is contracted by the Welsh Assembly Government, has helped start over 1000 new businesses in the county and created over 1200 jobs. Its success can also be measured by the fact that over 86% of new businesses survive into their second year of trading and a further 73% into their third year.
What can the New Business Starts Project offer you?
Starting up on your own is an important step to take and it can often be a lonely and risky business. At Foothold we can offer you free, highly personalised ‘one-to-one’ support from one of our offices in Llanelli or Carmarthen (or alternatively at a location convenient to you) to:
• Discuss your idea and identify resources
• Assist you to carry out Market Research
• Develop your proposal
• Identify and source potential funding
• Train you in key business skills
• Plan for Marketing and Finance
• Develop a full Business Plan
Inclusion Project
We also offer additional and specialist support through the Inclusion Project which is specifically designed to benefit Women & Lone Parents, Young People (18-30), those of us who are over 50 and Welsh speakers.
What does the Business Training consist of?
We offer a comprehensive training programme of 9 half day courses on business topics that are fundamental to the start up, survival and growth of any business. Course schedule.
