FOOTHOLD RECYCLING

Wales has one of the worst recycling records in Europe. Our throwaway society has left a legacy and we need to take action to ensure that we manage our waste responsibly, to minimise further environmental damage for future generations.

Footholds Recycling Objectives:
• To stimulate, promote and carry out activities which will reduce the level of waste going to landfill.
• To recycle and reuse materials, furniture and white goods and offer refurbished items to those in need.
• We also provide employment and training opportunities for those looking to enter the labour market.
• To increase awareness in the community about recycling
• To carry out design and project management services in the community using recycled materials and to involve the community in every stage.

Footholds Recycling Achievements:
To date Foothold has recycled furniture to over 11,000 families locally, diverting over 15,000 items. This has helped some of the poorest people in our communities to avoid getting further into the debt cycle.
